Google+ translation is highlighted in this picture from Ed Chi
The same functionality was available via a Chrome extension, but will now be part of the social media service itself.
Googler Ed Chi announced the update via a (where else?) Google+ post, along with the above picture, highlighting the change.
From his post:
The Google Translate team is always working to make information more accessible to individuals around the world. In Google+ this means bringing people together regardless of their written language, and breaking down language barriers that can limit the exchange of ideas. This is another change it what seems to be a rapid-fire acceleration of the Google+ service.

After announcing 41 changes at I/O, the Google+ team went on to revamp the Android app a few times. This was all congruent to the overhaul for photos, bringing a bevy of changes like autoawesome and the touching up of pictures.
The translation function will be rolling out incrementally, so look for it in your stream.
