How To Increase Engagement On Your Facebook Fanpage

They told you that you needed a Facebook page so you made one. You even went out and paid a designer to create you a nifty cover photo.
You put some posts on the page, too. But then… nothing happened.
Where are all of your fans? Why aren’t they engaging with your posts? I thought Facebook was supposed to work!
This is the plea of far too many business owners today.
They’ve heard that they need to be on Facebook but they don’t know the first thing about what to do once they’re there.
If this is you, don’t worry because there are some very simple tips that can get you started on the right track today.
Here are some tips on how to increase engagement on your Facebook fanpage:

Start talking-
it’s so simple yet so many don’t do it.
If you’re not talking and interacting on your page, why would anyone else be doing it? People don’t want to come to your page to talk to themselves.
Start talking and they will, too.

Experiment with your posts-
Don’t be afraid to try different types of posts.
Post some pictures, share some links, share status updates from other people in your niche and share your own status posts.
It’s all about mixing it up to see what your audience likes.
As you start to learn more about what they like, continue to replicate those types of posts.

Post at the right time-
Maybe no one is engaging with your posts because they are not seeing them. It could be that you are not posting at the right times for your target audience.
There are tools online that you can use to look up ideal times to post but it’s also as simple as thinking about the times your target audience are most likely to be using the site and avoiding the times they are least likely to be there.

Don’t try to sell until you establish a relationship-
Yes, we know you want on Facebook in order to make more sales but don’t try to sell until you have first established a relationship with people.
They won’t buy from someone they don’t know and trust.
You’ll be labeled a spammer and you’ll be wasting your time.
You can purchase likes to your page but they won’t do much for your engagement.
They’re just numbers. Ultimately it’s little more than a number. If you really want to build engagement you’ve got to get involved, give the fans something that interests them and make it worth their while to stick around and spend time on your page.
Remember how quickly it is for someone to just click away from your fanpage.
On the Internet, you only have a few seconds to capture their attention.
And with the many things that go through their newsfeed on a typical day, if you’re not doing something to stand out in a good way, you will either be forgotten or “unliked”.
Have you discovered any helpful tips for increasing engagement that you want to share?
